Getting married in Italy need not be complicated with
the help of “Baci da…” The
many legal requirements may be overwhelming and
daunting, but we will explain every step in detail.

Catholic Ceremony All of the
above, plus…
A certificate from the Padrino (Priest) and you must
first go to City Hall to authorize the documents. The
timeframe required to process the paperwork will be
managed by “Baci da….”
The ceremony can only be
performed in a church. You can request mass or no
mass.
If non-Catholic, the couple must attend the
required pre–marital (pre-cana) classes and have the
paperwork approved by a priest in Italy.
If an
annulment is recognized by the Catholic Church, then a
couple can re-marry. If divorced, you cannot
re-marry.
Civil Ceremony All
of the above, and…
Bride and groom, along with
two witnesses, must appear at the Ufficiale di Stato
Civile in Italy three days prior to ceremony.
For
the marriage to be recognized in the U.S.,
“Baci da…” will take the
Certificate of Marriage to the Prefettura, Ufficio
Legalizzazioni in Italy.
